Stochelo Rosenberg
Stochelo Rosenberg (Helmond, February 19, 1968) is a >world-renowned Dutch jazz guitarist and the lead guitarist of the Rosenberg Trio. He is considered one of the absolute masters of (also known as jazz manouche), a style in which the legendary Django Reinhardt is his greatest source of inspiration.
The Rosenberg Trio: Together with his cousins Nous’che (rhythm guitar) and Nonnie Rosenberg (double bass), he forms this renowned trio. They perform worldwide in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and at major festivals such as North Sea Jazz.
Stochelo comes from a musical Sinti family in Nuenen. He began playing guitar at a young age and learned the technique by listening to Django Reinhardt’s albums.
Collaborations: He regularly collaborates with other top musicians. For example, he performs with pianist Jermaine Landsberger in the Gypsy Today project and is part of the Kings of Strings with Paulus Schäfer and his brother Mozes Rosenberg.
